Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored

Sell Me Candy by Rihanna
First things first, regardless of what you think of the Bajan Bad girl her popularity and presence in music and fashion is irrefutable. Her style is constantly changing, her music is always played and her makeup in videos, photo shoots and on the red carpet sets trends. Like it or not, her modern legacy has been built and only those in the future have it in their power to herald her validity and claim as the ultimate pop star. Right now though - she's winning.

Honestly, in my reviews, I try to share my opinion of the brand whilst being impartial with the product. However, I think it will aid my review to say although I do appreciate the talent and art that many in the spotlight posses (celebrities) I'm not really a fan gal. So expect the bitter pills of truth - warts and all. So, let's get into reviewing ...

Fenty Beauty Launch (source 1, 2, 3 & 4)
The Launch: First I think it would be rude not to say how fantastic the launch was. However, initially I wasn't impressed with the pastel pink-packaged products and how simple everything was but, after seeing the various beautiful foundation (40 to be exact) swatches and the stunning campaign pictures - I think we can all agree that overall it was pretty darn epic.

Order Process
In the UK - Fenty Beauty is sold at Harvey Nichols which is great but, also not so great. Great because at least there is a physical store to look at but, not so great because depending on where you live it can be a tad out of reach, London is pretty busy (esp. fancy stores) and online delivery on a normal basis is £6 regardless of the amount you spend (I know - how terrifying!). Luckily for me, this liquid lipstick was released around Black Friday/Cyber Monday where free shipping was just one of the deals of the day. Of course, I was more than overjoyed! It took one day to get to me - granted nearing 9pm but still super quick. My invoice came in an envelope (fancy) and my items were safely packed in a bubble wrap envelope. Overall, I'm really pleased with the process.
Fenty Beauty Stunna lip paint in Uncensored - is a bright pigmented true red. I've noticed that depending on your skin tone/undertone and the overall lighting, this can look incredibly bluish or a vivid bright orange-red. Evidently, on my dark warm/orange/neutral based skin tone, it's more a hot n spicy orange-red than a deep glamorous bluesy one but it does teeter depending on the lighting. Either way, it's gorgeous.

Initial Thoughts
Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored ft. a clementine (because it's pretty too)
Packaging: The product is bigger than I thought and its pretty weighty. The applicator wand is so unique (like a goats foot) and is really great at lining my sharp cupids bow which of course makes sense since Rihanna has a very distinguished cupid-bow herself. The bottle is glass and the topper is a shiny scratch resistant plastic with a crisp and clear logo. It truly is a stunning piece that's incredibly unique and the only comparison I can make is Christian Louboutin's nail polish which is pretty high up there in terms of splendour.
Scent: Uncensored has no real scent which is great for those who are sensitive to fragrance or don't like scented products.

Formula: The consistency when I first applied it was very runny (I didn't shake it) and it did have a tendency to spill onto my teeth on my first ever try. I wouldn't say this product is kiss proof (does lightly transfer) but, it's certainly a comfortable matte that dries in good time.

Price: I actually think its pretty decent when considering the price of other items in the range and the ornate decadence of the packaging (glass, unique wand, pigmented colour, celeb name etc.).

Ingredients: Surprisingly small - let's say around 10 (including pigments) which is pretty great as lengthy endless lists of unreadable and unrecognisable things are a tad disconcerting. I'm very impressed.
1st thoughts: I'm really impressed. As a seasoned red lip wearer, I can tell when I really like a lip product because after applying it, I usually don't take it off and this is certainly one of those shades where that magic moment happened.
Any negatives? Nah, not really. The only trouble I've found is that a little can get on my teeth and spill outside my lip lines but, I think this is due to my application (getting used to the unique wand) rather than a flaw in itself. I'd recommend keeping your lips slightly parted and watching where the tip of the wand/foot goes. The applicator takes up a lot of product and you only need a little amount to get the job done so keep that in mind.

Would I recommend it? Um yes ... yes and yes.

Getting anything more from the Fenty Line? Maybe ... a true junkie never tells.
